Named for the late Senator Pete Suazo, the Utah Athletic Commission governs and regulates professional and amateur combat sports in Utah — sanctioning bouts, licensing athletes and officials, and safeguarding fighter health across boxing, MMA, kickboxing, and more.

Tammy Leavitt, Commissioner
Tammy Leavitt is a seasoned public relations executive who served as the Public Information Officer for the Utah Olympic Public Safety Command during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, overseeing media and public communication for more than 50 federal, state, and local agencies, including the FBI, Secret Service, and Governor's Office. She later served as Director of Communications for the Utah Department of Public Safety and Highway Patrol. As VP of iKeepSafe, she worked with governors and attorneys general to implement Internet safety programs in elementary schools nationwide. She was recently appointed to serve as a Commissioner for the Pete Suazo Utah Athletic Commission.
